Trex Advanced Materials operates a 24/7 operation to produce and develop high tech ceramics in the Lihue Industrial Park.  Trex has an opening for a Research Technician and is seeking qualified applicants, as described below.

Technical Skills/Requirements:

• Associates Degree in mechanical or electronics area, or equivalent.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Some controls and wiring skills desirable.
• Knowledge of math and basic physics.
• Proficiency in use of MS Office and other Windows based software.
• Good communication skills.
• Flexibility in handling unconventional and complex problems.
• U.S. Citizenship required

Responsibilities:

• Assist in design of solid material delivery systems for Trex silicon carbide (SiC) process.
• Procure, assemble and test solid material delivery systems.
• Integrate new solid material feeders into SiC furnaces for production.
• Design and assemble novel graphite fixtures to increase productivity of Trex SiC process.
• Write procedures for implementing new processes and assembling new fixtures.
